Air Conditioning and Refrigeration

Overview
This Air Conditioning and Refrigeration workshop, known in Arabic as تقني تبريد و تكييف, is a hands-on 60-hour program built for anyone who wants to work on real HVAC systems. You will get practical experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting split, central, and chiller units, and you will learn the core skills technicians use every day: calculating cooling loads, working with refrigerants, installing copper tubing and ducts, and diagnosing common faults. CIS College is Lebanon’s largest private vocational college, founded in 1991, with branches across the country, and this course combines theory with practical exercises so you are ready for real HVAC work.
The training is built around learning by doing. You will handle the same tools, gauges, and materials used on real installations, practice soldering and insulating copper tubing, install and calibrate thermostats, and work through troubleshooting exercises based on the failures technicians actually encounter in the field.
What You Will Learn
- Explain how air conditioning and refrigeration systems work, and identify split, central, and chiller system types
- Calculate cooling loads and duct sizing for a given space
- Cut, extend, solder, and insulate copper tubing
- Install and calibrate thermostats
- Measure and monitor refrigerant pressure, and perform flushing and vacuuming procedures
- Identify common refrigerant types and handle them safely
- Diagnose common system failures and interpret error codes
- Follow safety practices and coordinate effectively with engineers and electricians on site
