Automotive Foundations: Mechanics, Electricity and Electronics

Overview
Automotive Foundations is the starting point of CIS College’s specialized automotive track, known in Arabic as the Dawra Tahdiriya (الدورة التحضيرية الميكانيك والكهرباء والالكترونيك للسيارات). Over 100 hours of hands on, on campus training, you build a working understanding of how a car actually operates: the engine, the transmission and driveline, the suspension, brakes, and steering, plus the electrical and electronic systems that run alongside them.
This course is designed to give you the base knowledge needed before moving into one of CIS College’s specialized automotive courses: Car Mechanics, Car Electricity, or Car Electronics and Diagnostics. If you are new to the profession or want to confirm which specialization fits you best, this is where you start.
What You Will Learn
- How an internal combustion engine works and how its fixed and moving parts function together
- The role and operation of manual and automatic transmissions
- How the differential transfers power to the wheels
- The function of suspension components and how they support ride and handling
- How braking systems work and what keeps them functioning safely
- The layout and function of steering systems
- Core electrical principles and how to build simple electrical circuits
- Basic electronics principles and a first look at diagnostic equipment used to identify car faults
