Overview
CIS College’s Event Planning course takes you through the full journey of organizing a professional event, from your first meeting with a client to executing the event on the day. Over 60 hours, you will learn how to analyze client needs, set budgets, choose venues, coordinate vendors, and manage the many moving parts that make an event successful.
The course combines practical exercises with real planning tools, including mood boards, style boards, and function sheets, so you finish with hands-on experience across the creative, logistical, and business sides of event planning.
What You Will Learn
- The role of an event planner and the different types of events and their purposes
- How to develop an event concept, theme, and décor using mood boards and style boards
- How to prepare for and win your first client meeting, including budgets, timelines, and pitching your services
- How to select venues and vendors and manage catering, menus, and beverage service
- How to build a complete function sheet and event schedule
- How to handle common event challenges and manage a crisis during an event
- How to design event stationery, décor elements such as chocolate tables and balloon displays, and interactive guest areas like photobooths
- How to plan and present a complete event from concept to execution

| Event Stationery and Design | Invitations, signage, banners, backdrops, and other design details |
| Chocolate Table Reception Design | Planning and presenting a themed chocolate dessert table that matches the event |
| Balloon Design for Events | Balloon types, arrangements, color theory, and branded balloon décor |
| Photobooth and Guest Experience Corners | Designing engaging photo areas and interactive corners that enhance the guest experience |
| Final Project | Planning a complete event from concept to execution, including mood board, schedule, and function sheet |
