General Electricity

Overview
The General Electricity course, known in Arabic as Kahraba A’ama (كهرباء عامة), builds a solid foundation in residential electrical work over 40 hours. You will start with electrical safety and core concepts like Ohm’s law, power, voltage drop, and wire sizing, then move into reading electrical diagrams and symbols and using measuring instruments correctly.
The bulk of the course is hands on: you will wire the circuits found in real homes and buildings, from simple and double lighting circuits to two way and multi way switching, timers, motion sensors, doorbells, and electric door locks. You will also learn how distribution boards are organized and get an introduction to intercom and video door phone systems, finishing with practical fault diagnosis on real circuit diagrams.
What You Will Learn
- Electrical safety practices, including protection against electric shock and first aid basics
- Core electrical concepts such as Ohm’s law, power, voltage drop, and wire sizing calculations
- How to read electrical diagrams, symbols, and wire color coding
- How to use measuring instruments for voltage, current, resistance, and power
- How to wire common residential lighting circuits, including two way and multi way switching
- Installation of timers, motion sensors, doorbells, and electric door locks
- How distribution boards, contactors, relays, and timers are organized and connected
- How to read circuit diagrams to trace and diagnose electrical faults
