Introduction to Programming

Overview
Introduction to Programming is where you learn to think like a programmer and write your first real code. Over 15 to 20 hours you build the fundamentals that every programming language shares: variables, data types, control flow, functions, basic data structures, and an introduction to object oriented programming. The course is taught mostly in C# .NET, though the same concepts can be delivered in C++, Java, or Python.
Rather than staying purely theoretical, the course is built around hands-on exercises and small projects, so you leave able to write, test, and debug simple programs on your own.
What You Will Learn
- Work with variables, data types, operators, and expressions
- Control the flow of a program using if statements, loops, and switch statements
- Write and reuse functions to organize your code into manageable blocks
- Use basic data structures such as arrays, lists, stacks, queues, and trees
- Understand how algorithms are designed and how to reason about them
- Get introduced to object oriented programming: classes, objects, inheritance, polymorphism, and encapsulation
- Identify and fix bugs in your code using debugging techniques
- Apply coding standards and best practices for writing clean, maintainable code
