Life and Employability Skills

Overview
This course, delivered over 20 to 24 hours, builds a wide base of practical life and workplace skills through the lens of nonprofit and community sector work. Participants start with an introduction to the nonprofit sector before moving through core professional skills including negotiation, proposal and grant writing, project management, and leadership.
The course also strengthens essential soft skills such as communication, customer service, time management, decision making, and problem solving, along with basic computer skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook. It closes with volunteer management and strategic planning, giving participants a well-rounded skill set for working effectively in mission-driven organizations.
