Overview
Nutrition is a 60 hour course that gives you a solid, practical understanding of how food affects the body, from the basic building blocks of a healthy diet to the way nutrition needs change across different stages of life. You will look at real dietary guidelines, learn how to assess someone’s nutritional intake, and see how food choices connect to the prevention and management of chronic conditions such as diabetes and heart disease.
The course also covers the communication side of the job, including how to deliver clear dietary advice and how to account for cultural habits when guiding someone toward healthier eating.
What You Will Learn

- Describe the role of carbohydrates, protein, fat, vitamins and minerals in the body

- Support healthy weight management and carry out basic nutritional assessments
- Adapt nutrition guidance for chronic conditions and for different life stages, from pregnancy through older age
- Apply food safety and hygiene principles and communicate nutrition advice effectively

| Nutrition and Exercise | Nutritional needs for physical activity, and pre and post workout guidelines | 4 hours |
| Weight Management | Principles of weight loss and weight gain, and strategies for healthy weight management | 4 hours |
| Nutritional Assessment | Methods for assessing a person’s nutritional status and interpreting dietary intake data | 4 hours |
| Nutrition and Chronic Diseases | The role of nutrition in preventing and managing conditions such as diabetes, heart disease and hypertension | 4 hours |

Certification
Graduates who complete the course successfully receive a certificate recognized by Lebanon’s Directorate General of Technical and Vocational Education.
